Sierra and Silverado Sales Outpace Ford F-Series
Thanks to their remarkable capabilities, advanced technologies, and power, the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado models have long reigned supreme in the full-size pickup truck segment, and 2020 was no exception. These models had a year-over-year sales growth in 2020, outpacing the sales of the Ford F-Series.
In 2020, Chevrolet had a 3.21-percent sales increase over 2019 with 594,094 Silverado units sold, and GMC has an 8.91 percent sales increase with 253,016 Sierra units sold. Combined, the brands shipped 847,110 of these trucks last year.
The Ford F-Series, on the other hand, had a 12.17 percent sales decrease in 2020. The automaker only sold 787,422 units, which was 59,688 units shy of the GM truck sales. With the latest 2021 GM models now on the market, this gap may only widen further.
Clearly, the Silverado and GMC models are the preferred trucks of many, and it’s easy to see why. These models come with high payload and towing capacities, so you can bring all the work supplies, camping gear, and cargo you need on the go. Plus, they each come with their fair share of best-in-class ratings, showing their superiority in important areas.
